Before Your Visit
As a part of your treatment, we set time aside to discuss your goals and determine any areas of pain or tension that needs focus. During the first visit, we require that each client complete and sign an intake form to provide the information necessary to make the massage experience effective and safe. With this information, we are able to deliver a session that is tailored to every individual’s unique needs. All information gathered is strictly confidential and under no circumstances will it be shared for any purpose without your prior, written consent.
During Your Visit
Once the plans and expectations for the session are determined, the therapist will leave the room so you may disrobe to your comfort level and settle on the table under the sheet. Draping is required and is used to provide warmth, comfort and modesty.
During the massage, you will be comfortably and fully covered, other than the area of focus. We might use different forms of lubricant such as cocoa butter, massage oil, unscented organic cream, essential oils or none at all. The session may include the whole body and/or focus work in areas that need special attention. While it is common that at times the pressure applied is intense, causing what we call “the good pain”, it should never hurt to a point where you can’t take it. Because your comfort and satisfaction is our priority, it is imperative that you communicate with your therapist of any adjustments you might need as far as pressure, room temperature, ambient music volume, etc.
After Your Visit
Once the session is over, we will give you privacy and time to transition off the table and get dressed. You may extend your stay and enjoy some chilled water or hot tea before you go home. Make sure to drink enough water all the time, but especially after your massage. Your session is followed by a brief chat with your therapist where you are encouraged to give us feedback, ask questions and receive suggestions for self care and future treatment.
